Dr. Sonia Bennett, DDS

Dr. Bennett is passionate about education and improving patient outcomes, and she remains up-to-date with the most current techniques and advancements in the field so as to provide her patients with the best possible results. With the experience of operating over 1000 full arch dental implant cases (All-on-4®) and well over 5000 single dental implants placed, Dr. Bennett has a proven record of success. Her patients and referring doctors can feel confident that her expertise is unmatched in the region.

As a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, her work allows her patients to enjoy a higher quality of life through improvements in both appearance and function. Dr. Bennett carefully develops treatment plans that work for each patient as an individual, whether addressing impacted or missing teeth, skeletal facial deformities, surgical defects, or other conditions that require surgical treatment and the implementation of safe and effective anesthesia.

Dr. Bennett earned her D.D.S. from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she graduated at the top of her class. She then completed her residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she operated in one of the busiest trauma hospitals and the highest volume orthognathic centers in the country. She has operated on over 300 skeletofacial deformity cases in residency, becoming one of the most experienced orthognathic surgeons in the country. Her residency included heavy rotations in trauma, cleft lip and palate, TMJ surgery, and anesthesia, as well as dentoalveolar surgery. She went on to be recognized for surgical excellence as the chief resident of Children’s Hospital Oakland and was selected to join a team of specialists providing care to children with cleft lip and palate in Puebla, Mexico.

Upon graduation, Dr. Sonia Bennett moved to the Midwest, where she has been providing care ever since. She has been the primary surgeon for ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers in Chicago and Indianapolis for the past five years. During that time, she has operated on over 1,000 full-arch cases, making her one of the most experienced dental implant surgeons in all of Northwest Indiana.

Dr. Bennett is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, and the Northwest Indiana Dental Society.

She is recognized as an innovator within her network and has been invited to speak at national conferences. Dr. Bennett also seeks to promote regenerative therapies for both surgical defects and cosmetic applications. Some of the advanced technology that Dr. Bennett offers at Glacial Sands OMS includes 3-Dimensional imaging and treatment planning, Lumeccca IPL for treatment of skin discoloration and anti-aging, EmbraceRF therapies for minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, Platelet-Rich-Fibrin for the stimulation of enhanced healing, as well as Nano-Fat applications for tissue regeneration.

Her commitment to continually advancing education and exploring new treatment options allows Dr. Bennett to advance in her profession and deliver better outcomes for her patients. 

Dr. Bennett grew up in central Virginia and spent much time on the West Coast during her education and residency. She is settled here in the Midwest, happily married with two children— a daughter and a son currently attending school in Chesterton.

She is an avid enthusiast for outdoor activities of all kinds. Much of her free time is spent riding and caring for her four horses.
