Dr. Bennett and her team have specialized training in the administration of in-office sedation and general anesthesia. We will discuss the recommended anesthesia options with patients during the consultation appointment. Our sedation recommendations are based on the patient’s needs, medical history, and the nature of the procedure. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.
Our Anesthesia Options
Local anesthesia – medications are applied topically and/or injected into the tissue to cause the area to become numb. Although the area will be pain-free, awake patients will be able to sense pressure.
Nitrous oxide (Laughing Gas) – a mixture of nitrous and oxygen is administered by a nasal mask to induce mild relaxation and analgesia.
Oral sedation – an oral medication may be given prior to the procedure to induce relaxation and/or analgesia.
Intravenous sedation – medications are administered via IV to induce sedation. The level of sedation may vary from light conscious sedation to general anesthesia, depending on the patient’s needs and health status.
At Glacial Sands OMS, we provide several sedation options for our patients, allowing them to complete their procedure in the most comfortable way possible.
